Course Overview


This course provides an introduction to the principles and practices of building maintenance. Topics covered include regulations, standards, and compliance; safety and health; energy efficiency; the building code; maintenance planning and management; building fabric maintenance; and engineering systems.

  • Explain the importance of safety and health in building maintenance.
  • Calculate the energy efficiency of a building and identify ways to improve it.
